This 90g reef was set up in 2008 with the main goal of creating a simple, but attractive reef. The second goal was to eliminate the clutter that tends to accumulate with advanced reef tanks.
My two favorite ways to view reef tanks are looking down and through the side panel. view, The stand design, overall tank height and rimless aquarium are designed to make viewing the aquarium as a look down easy and effortless.
The side view is often my favorite for most aquariums because of the depth and overlapping rockwork. With this in mind, the front glass on the glassbox is only 24" from left to right, however the depth from front to back is 36". This allows creativity with the aquascape and a look that is typically not attainable with standard aquariums.
24" x 36" x 24" rimless 90g reef. 0.5" starphire is used on all 4 panels with 1" glass for the bottom pane.
The stand is a custom design I had made. It's constructed of oak & birch with a white laminate skin. There are no doors, and only access behind the tank.
The tank is illuminated by:
An old but trusty 250w Ebo Jager heater.
Water quality is maintained via weekly 10g water changes, VSV, and a DAS EX-2 Protein Skimmer.
Fish are fed 8-10+times a day a mixture of Mysis, Cyclopeeze, Clam, Squid, Spirulina, Nori, etc.
The Balling light method is used for Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium and Trace element supplementation.
Roaps Hybrid Butterflyfish, (Chaetodon flavocoronatus x Chaetodon burgessi?)

Mated pair of Onyx Clowns (Amphiprion percula)
